You might probably have using Microsoft Office Communicator or Lync on your work station but there are some situations where you want to login into client communicator due to which you have to sign out of local office communicator. Here in this post let us see how can we use the pidgin to set up office communicator account and login using pidgin into the office communicator. As you might have already know pidgin is a free chat client used by millions to login into different chat clients. By default there is no option in pidgin to set up an office communicator account but we have solution for this problem in the name of third party plugin called SIPE.
SIPE project implements the extended version of SIP/SIMPLE used by various products like
Microsoft Office Communications Server
Microsoft Live Communications Server
Reuters Messaging
Let us see how you can set up with the pidgin.
Step1 : Download and install the latest version of pidgin from its website.
Now if you try to see the different options there will be no communicator option available.
Step 2 : Download and install the latest version of SIPE from sourceforge.
Now you can see that there is an option to set up office communicator account.
Step 3 : Now enter the credentials for your account and login and that’s it you are done.
Very organized way of writing keep it up 😀
