Submitting a sitemap for search engines is one of the common attribute for any webmaster if he wishes to get the traffic from search engines , No worry if you did not submit any sitemap you just won’t be getting that much traffic as you desire from search engines since your pages are not indexed.

Today I am going to post on how to submit your blogger blog site map to popular search engines like bing , google and yahoo.

Here is the procedure for submitting your blogger sitemap to bing.

How to submit blogger sitemap to Bing :

1. Register an account in www.bing.com/webmaster
2. Once you are registered , Login to your account and ADD a site by clicking on add site hyperlink as shown in image.
   
3. Then a popup appears to add your site , Just fill your blogspot address and click on submit.
   
   
4. Then another popup appears to verify your ownership , There are two ways in which you can verify your ownership , Either by putting an BingSiteAuth.XML sitemap in your root folder or you can just add a meta keyword in your site. But since we are using a blogger we don’t have privilege to put that file so second one is our way.
   
   
5. To add a meta tag , you need to login into your blogspot and go to edit html option available under design tab of your blogger, Just after head tag in your html add the code by copying the fiven code by bing and paste it here as shown in image.
   
6. If your site is verified then following screen shows up else you will get notification saying that site verification failed and you need to redo the procedure again.
   
7. Now you need to add a sitemap of your blog to let bing index your pages , To add a sitemap you need to go to crawl tab and click on Sitemaps (XML, Atom, RSS) , In the bottom window pane you have an option to add a feed , This is the feed that bing crawler visits your blog to index and show your pages when searched in bing.
   here is a problem if you are using default “feeds/posts/default?orderby=updated” as your feed when you submit because this feed contains only last 26 posts of your blog and other than your 26 recent posts are dropped from indexing so I prefer you to use “atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500” for first 500 posts and so on change start and end posts for next 500 and create a sitemap again for it and add.

   That is it if you successfully submit your feed then your blog is ready to be indexed by bing but before it may take some time to index your blog.
